Bringing integrity and the rule of law to the 314th District Court

I am Chris Branson, and I am running for Judge of the 314th Civil District Court of Harris County, Texas.

The 314th court handles juvenile and Child Protective Services (CPS) cases. I will bring integrity and the rule of law to this court, because I recognize and celebrate the fact that a judge is rightly bound by the Constitution and by the laws laid down by the legislature. He may interpret the law to apply it to a set of facts when necessary, but must never inject his own opinion into the situation.

But just as important, I care deeply about the children in these cases. I want the best possible outcomes for them and their families. Making decisions that are in the best interest of the child is a mandate in CPS cases, and one of the purposes in a juvenile case is to provide treatment, training and rehabilitation, when possible (while protecting the public safety, of course) for a child who has committed a criminal act. I will always remember that.
